We hiked up San Ysidro Canyon to the "swimming hole" today (Friday, 9/10) -- the Dippers were not all cooperative, but the two Steller's Jays (see Jim Greaves Posting #96) were in the oak trees directly across the creek on the facing slope. Several calling Canyon Wrens at various spots along creek and a few silent empids. Only warbler - Townsend's.
