Carpinteria birding

Peter Gaede

Hi All:

I checked a few places around Carpinteria. Not much to report, but the stretch of Carpinteria Creek both above and below 6th street was pretty active. There was a TENNESSEE WARBLER and a Hermit Warbler in the willows below 6th. A couple of lingering Black-throated Gray Warblers were found, one at the willows adjacent Viola Fields, and another behind the residences at the north end of Bailard Ave.

In the closed section of the salt marsh near the end of Estero Way this morning were 21 White-faced Ibis.
