Bald Eagle

Driving south on 154 about 1pm today, I saw an adult Bald Eagle flying over the highway toward where the Santa Ynez River enters Lake Cachuma. An Osprey, a much more agile flier, approached and challenged the bigger bird. After maneuvers proved useless, it didn't take long for the eagle to retreat and seek refuge in a tree.
Out in the water, soon to be submerged, is a nest box on a pole. Were those swallows using the box?
