El Cap birds

Peter Gaede

At El Capitan State Park today there was a Hermit Warbler at the creek crossing just before the entrance kiosk. Not much else was in the campground. In the protected cove just east of the park was a group of 21 Red-breasted Mergansers, very close to shore. Two additional birds were further out, totaling 23 in the bay.

Elsewhere, I found a Red-breasted Sapsucker working trees in the front yard of 415 Vareda del Ciervo.
