Goleta Beach

Marge and Don Thornton

One last swing along the coast took us to Goleta Beach where there were plenty of gulls both on the beach and in the water. The majority were Western and California Gulls with some Ring-Billed Gulls and a few Royal Terns. In the slough behind the east parking lot there was a group of Western Gulls Swimming with what appeared to be a Glaucous-Winged Gull just behind and a Glaucous Gull somewhat ahead.

The apparent Glaucous Gull was a little larger than the Westerns and had a pinkish beak with a black tip.
