I agree with you that this is a Tropical Kingbird. Who is claiming it's a Cassin's?

The tringa is a Greater Yellowlegs. I think you mentioned several tringas on the pond (I had a Lesser Yellowlegs yesterday). Did you photograph the wrong bird?

Saturday morning we walked a loop from OMGC to Sands, COPR, Devereux Slough and back to OMGC. We saw many nice birds including Surf Birds at Coal Oil Point, Hugh numbers of Western sandpipers. In going over the photos, we found a couple of intriguing birds. The Kingbird was at the start of the Pond Trail and the Sandpiper was on the Pond.
