This from "Birds of Santa Barbara": Nesting at Lake Cachuma was first documented
in 1992, when up to 60 pairs with
many young were present 2–29+ July. In addition, at least 2 mixed Western X
Clark’s
pairs with young were seen, along with 2 or 3 intermediate-looking adults paired
with
Westerns. Another mixed pairing with a chick was noted in August 2000.
