Dika Golovatchoff and I spent some time checking the north side of the Bird
Refuge this morning. No sign of any rare sparrows, bit I'm not assuming that
the LeConte's has moved on. There's enough habitat at the refuge that it's
possible the bird is hiding out, as it does very well.
Over the last days I have visited Vieja Valley school and vicinity, the Santa
Barbara Cemetery, the Music Academy of the West, and Bohnett Park. I saw
nothing of note at any of these locations.
