- Comments: "Continuing. Large warbler, brownish olive above, prominent white eye ring, heavy black streaking on white underparts, black stripe above eye on side of crown, broad orange central crown stripe visible when the bird was facing away. Held tail up while it walk/hopped on the ground, frequently flicking the tail upward. Bird was foraging in the path where it had previously been reported when I arrived; after a few minutes it flew into the underbrush south of the path, then returned to the path behind (west of) me. Very cooperative!"

Ovenbird (Seiurus aurocapilla) (1)
- Reported Sep 07, 2018 16:23 by Libby Patten
- Coronado Dr.--south end (Goleta Monarch Grove), Santa Barbara, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&q=34.4232079,-119.8898008&ll=34.4232079,-119.8898008
- Checklist: https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S48363548
- Comments: "Found earlier today by Ron Hirst and refound by Nick Lethaby. On the main trail near the series of manholes. Foraging on the ground, on and near the trail. In the company of other ground foragers - several Song Sparrows, California Towhee and a California Thrasher. Would dart around jerkily and then slow down with a very distinctive pattern of movement - stopping to lift and hold up one foot, then the other, almost like a prance. Brown above, white below. White eye ring, black spots in tracks on underside, orange crown stripe with black edges. Crisp and bright. Will add photos. "
