Field Trip: Sandhill Crane Overnight

This Audubon field trip will visit the Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park, The Atwell Island Wetlands, the Pixley National Wildlife Refuge and the Kern National Wildlife Refuge.

Target Birds: Sandhill Cranes, Burrowing Owls, Common Gallinule, Horned Larks, Loggerhead Shrike, Lark Sparrows, Blue-winged Teal, Marsh Wren, Great Horned Owls, White-faced Ibis plus many other species


Saturday, February 16, 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM 

Field Trip: Lake Los Carneros County Park - Goleta

Target Birds: Freshwater ducks and other waterfowl, raptors and winter woodland birds


Friday, February 22, 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM 

Field Trip: Sand Point in Carpinteria – Special Bonus for SBAS Members Only

Target Birds: Long-bill Curlew, Great Egret, Snowy Egret, Osprey, White-tailed Kite, Sandpipers and waterfowl


Sunday, February 24, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM 

Field Trip: Ventura Duck Ponds / Wetlands

Target Birds: Waterfowl, Virginia Rail, Merlin, Peregrine Falcon, American Bittern, White-faced Ibis, Yellow-headed Blackbirds, Vermilion Flycatcher, Marsh Wren & others


Wednesday, February 27, 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM - Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History

Evening Program: The National Wild and Scenic Rivers Act: 50 years of protection

Join Steve Evans as he brings us up to date on the history and future of California’s wild and scenic rivers.
