Swainson’s Hawks

Eric Culbertson

I again watched for hawks this afternoon from Romero Canyon Hawk Watch Site. Between 1620 and 1805 I had twelve Swainson’s Hawks in three groups (5,6,1). Today’s migration was further south than the previous two days. Half of today’s birds would have been seen well from the Pacifica Graduate Institute campus at Ladera Lane while the others would have been visible briefly from Bella Vista Dr Overlook. All birds were first located SE of me in the saddle between Toro Ridge and the foothills.
