Least Terns at Devereux

Thomas Turner

There were 2 Least Terns at the Devereux slough mouth this AM. The one I saw well was a juvenile.

The slough was full of small and medium shore birds; the most I have seen there this season. One quick spotting scope pass didn’t reveal anything great, but that isn’t saying much. I did see Lesser Yellowlegs, an Avocet, lots of Dowitcher, Wilson’s and Red-Necked Phalarope, and tons of peeps.
