- Comments: "Observed this kingbird fly catching from a power line over the pasture and dropping to the ground. It was facing away from me all of the time but I could see its forked tail, that it had a longish bill when the head was turned in profile, very yellow under parts. Distant photos taken"

Tropical Kingbird (Tyrannus melancholicus) (2)
- Reported Oct 04, 2019 12:15 by Mark Holmgren
- UC Santa Barbara--Campus Lagoon, Santa Barbara, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&q=34.4076516,-119.845165&ll=34.4076516,-119.845165
- Checklist: https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S60351862
- Media: 1 Photo
- Comments: "A Cassin's (on top) with a Tropical Kingbird. The green back isn't a typical Cassin's feature, but the nearly black tail with a narrow white rim suggests Cassin's. A second Tropical is on the north shore of the lagoon 'island', to the west of these 2 in the photo. A third was seen on the north side of the lagoon but I'd consider this a duplicate for now."
