Early afternoon I birded Pinery Rd in the hope of finding my nemesis Haemorhous (Cassin's). Despite failing on that front, it was nevertheless a pleasant walk with RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH, GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLET, MOUNTAIN CHICKADEE, and many, many calling MOUNTAIN QUAIL.
Butterfly-wise I had a dozen+ California Tortoiseshell.
