Yesterday at the UCSB Lagoon we saw an Allen’s Hummingbird sitting on a nest. (checklist w/photos: https://ebird.org/checklist/S78884457)

According to Paul Lehman’s “Birds of Santa Barbara County (2020)” Allen’s Hummingbirds have been seen on nests “Even once in early January” so this would be an early breeding effort.
