Bird Refuge Neotropic Cormorant

This afternoon, an adult Neotropic Cormorant was with Double-cresteds at the west end of the easternmost island in the lagoon at the Andree Clark Bird Refuge in Santa Barbara. The bird wasn't visible from the parking lot. You had to walk west along the path a ways to get a look.

Not a lot else of interest, other than the flock of Black Skimmers (36) and three Black-necked Stilt chicks near the west end of the refuge. There were also several Great-tailed Grackle fledglings, also mostly at the west end. No shorebirds other than stilts.
