I walked the beaches early this morning at very low tide and found only a few gulls. It was a great time for a meditative walk, but not much else. There were 4 Black-necked Stilts in a tidal overflow pool next to the Campus Point access road and a Kildeer family (2 adults, 2 fledged chicks) in the northwest corner of the UCSB Lagoon. The Lagoon was devoid of any waterfowl.
