Birders were disappointed not to find the Chestnut-sided Warbler this morning. Lots of Yellow-rumped and a Tornsend's warbler greeted me, as well as the beautiful and endangered Monarch Butterflies. On my way home I checked out the area around the Phelps Creek bridge at NCOS. A few Scaly-breasted Munia on the north side and then looking down from the south side I was delighted when a Sora came out from among the reeds and was in full view for at least 10 minutes. I was even able to capture a video of this often secretive bird. Also seen a Black Phoebe and a Cassin's Kingbird.
