Manzana Creek 29 May

Mike Stiles

During a backpack trip out of Nira up the Manzana Creek I saw an AMERICAN DIPPER working the creek about a half mile below the narrows.

I had two locations of singing CASSIN'S VIREOS along with many BH Grosbeaks, Warbling Vireos, Ash-throated Flycatchers, Black-chinned and Anna's Hummingbirds, Pac-slope Flycatchers, House Wrens, Canyon Wrens...

It was a great trip, and very birdy, but the biting flies were the dominant species on the trip.
