Painted redstart is continuing in the oaks behind the salmon-colored house just North of the park. Beautiful little guy.

I think the possibility of this bird being the same one that wintered several years ago is highly remote, for a couple of reasons. First, I don't think the bird could have returned and gone

Lehman BOSBC (2020) lists Painted Redstarts at Rocky Nook in January of 2015 and 2016, likely the same individual in those adjacent years. The longevity record for this species is 6 years, 7 months

Exactly a week ago on Dec. 3, I was on Ellwood Beach below the Sperling Preserve and I saw and photographed a diagonal line of 12 Canada Geese flying west over the beach and then over the bluff top.
