Dunlin and Cackling Geese at Cachuma
At the crack of noon, I walked and scoped Jackrabbit Flat on the south shore of Lake Cachuma. Two fire-fighting planes scooped water from the lake for use on the Alisal Fire.

This morning at 7:30 whilst biking to work, I heard a Summer Tanager calling along Maria Ygnacio Creek about 100 meters south of the 101. I did stop to try to see it but had no luck.

This is the 3rd one in our yard since August. It is an adult and has been in the lemon tree right outside my office for about an hour, sheltering from the wind gusts.
