- Checklist: https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S56210243
- Comments: "Small accipiter studied through binoculars as it slowly soared above and just north of me over the high “knob” here before moving west. I was surprised when I started looking at it and what I saw fit Sharp-Shinned and not Cooper’s. When I study soaring Accipiter’s from below I usually focus first on the tail length and shape. I saw on this bird a square tail that wasn’t nearly as dominant a feature of the birds profile as the long tail with the rounded end seen on Cooper’s Hawks. The wings appeared broad and short and appeared to show the “hunched” forward wing posture typical of this species. The head also appeared small and didn’t protrude forward like is typical for a Cooper’s Hawk. Plumage appeared streaky and brown through entire underparts. I saw no bold coloration you would expect in a adult bird."

- Checklist: https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S56386976
- Comments: "This bird was mixed in with the large swallow flock over the NE end of Area K, made up mostly of Cliff Swallows. Seen at a distance, I still managed good and long looks tracking it through scope. Initially the bird stood out as having a very different flight style than neighboring birds, with more rapid wing beats and seemingly more erratic flight. The bird had a much more slender appearance than CLSW, with narrow tale and pointy wings. The upperparts were conspicuously brownish. Underparts were pale. Pale/whitish extended up onto the sides of the neck. Only on a couple occasions could I make out the suggestion of a breast band, but the bird was too distant and shifty to get a good look at this feature."

- Checklist: https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S56399103
- Comments: "Oriole-sized bird with complete black hood over head. Not a spiffy-looking adult male: there were little bits of yellow showing through the black here and there, and it wasn't glossy black. From below and behind the bird looked all yellow. My look was long but distant, and the bird seemed like a young or transitioning male or something, but this species seems to fit much better than other possibilities."

African Collared-Dove (Streptopelia roseogrisea) (1)
- Reported May 19, 2019 16:30 by Noah Gaines
- Alice Keck Park, Santa Barbara, California

- Checklist: https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S56514326
- Comments: "I am not really sure about the status of this bird in the county, and this is a pretty weak sighting, but I figure that I should report it regardless. I am aware of the fact that ECDOs can often times be quite pale and misleading and have taken time in the past to sort these birds out so I was familiar with the field marks before this sighting. While walking with my family, no binoculars, I saw a pigeon/dove flying right over my head and my first thought was that it was one of those albino rock pigeons that people release for events. However, this bird was much more slender than a rock pigeon and had the characteristic shape of an ECDO which are abundant in my neighborhood (squared off tail). As it passed overhead and in front of me in good light, i had a second to observe the bird and I noted that it was a pale ivory color throughout and was not significantly darker in the flight feathers. I paid special attention to the undertail coverts (and noted that they were the same color as the rest of the bird and as the tip of the tail). The only dark portion of the bird was the base of the tail. I was not able to note the collar on the nape as I was focused on the undertail. "

Yellow-throated Warbler (Setophaga dominica) (1) CONFIRMED
- Reported May 19, 2019 17:35 by David Compton
- Gaviota SP, Santa Barbara, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&q=34.4727321,-120.228442&ll=34.4727321,-120.228442
- Checklist: https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S56517391
- Comments: "Found earlier in the day by Tom Maloney, who reported it to Jesse Altstatt, who refound the bird and got the word out. Soon after I arrived, someone, I believe Peggy Kearns, spotted the warbler. Eventually, everyone got on it, and we watched it off and on for about 45 minutes. It moved between the one pine tree in the area and a variety of eucalyptus in the southwest corner of the campground and on the adjacent bluffs. The bird was a small and very active warbler with a medium-length tail. It was very difficult to get good looks at this bird, which almost never stayed in view for long, and seemed to move constantly. I didn't get a great look at the bill, but it appeared to be of fairly normal length and shape for a warbler. The bird was mostly white below, with white under tail coverts and mostly white underside to the body, except for pronounced black streaks on the sides and a well-defined bright yellow throat bordered on the sides by black. The face had a pronounced black patch on the auriculars that appeared to have a triangular shape (pointing toward the bill) and was bordered above by what looked like a white supercilium (I could see white in this area, and photos by other birders showed a completely white supercilium and lores). I never got a good look at the crown, but there appeared to be more blackish area above the supercilium. The mantle, at which I only got brief looks, appeared to be dark gray. The wings were dark with white wing bars and white flight feather edges. I don't recall seeing the rump or the upper side of the tail.
The bird sang and called periodically. The songs was a series of paired notes, changing pitch as the song progressed. The call was a fairly sharp chip that reminded me of a combination of the calls of a Yellow Warbler and a Black Phoebe. My views were probably not good enough to ID to subspecies, but the photos I saw indicated this bird was the expected S. d. albilora."

We returned there together and heard what sounded like the bird singing but were not able to see it. I continued down from there while Eric resumed his hike north. Later he texted to let me know he'd seen what presumably was the same bird singing above Sutton Canyon, and then heard (but did not see) the bird back in the original location as he was walking back down."

Franklin's Gull (Leucophaeus pipixcan) (1)
- Reported May 24, 2019 11:09 by Joel Barrett
- Gull Island and surrounding waters, Santa Barbara, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&q=33.94735,-119.82714&ll=33.94735,-119.82714
- Checklist: https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S56743803
- Media: 3 Photos
- Comments: "I took a bit to study this bird before I settled on its ID. Top wing pattern looked good for a Laughing gull to me, but also could be a 1st Summer Franklin's Gull. Underwing pattern looks best for Franklin's with clean underwing and black limited to the distal portion of the wing tip. The white eye-arcs are also quite pronounced. Photos show the black hood is not fully developed and the face still shows a decent amount of white. Seen flying westward, south of Santa Cruz Island less than one mile from Gull Island a small offshore rock associated with Santa Cruz Island. It continued along at about 18 knots with our boat and I believe it stayed south of Santa Rosa Island as it moved west as I did not see it in the Santa Cruz passage as we turned slightly to the north."
