Andre Clark Bird Refuge Wed 4/27/2022

At 8:30 this morning the (female?) Long-tailed Duck was resting on the bank of the outflow channel on the S. side of Cabrillo Blvd. This is a curious plumage; the breast seems much too pale. Also, although the bird does not seem obviously ill, it has lingered long into the spring.

Near the parking lot on the N. shore of the Refuge there was a Greater White-fronted Goose, a handsome male N. Pintail, a single Least Sandpiper, and a  confiding brood of recently hatched Mallards.
