Back in early December I had reported what I thought may be a Yellow-shafted Flicker in Buellton based on distant flight looks at the bird. Today in the same area I was able to photo a distant perched bird that appears strongly yellow undertail and with perhaps just a touch of black in the otherwise red malar so likely an intergrade.
