- Comments: "At the northwest corner of the main body of the lake, I took the path down close to the water’s edge. There among the dense reeds/grasses I heard a repeating song/call: a low and fast coo-coo-coo. The bird sang for the whole time I was there which was about 10 minutes or more. After reviewing iBird audio files I determined this to be a Least Bittern. I encourage anyone who know this species’ vocalizations well to review my audio clip. It’s pretty faint in the recording, but you can heard four rounds of the coo-coo song."

- Comments: "Continuing bird found Friday, June 5 by Libby Patten. In the reeds along the northwest shore of the lake. The bird was vocalizing near (34.4426474, -119.8496731) at around 0600. The attached recording was made from near (34.4430732, -119.8490693). Later (around 0655) I got some distant photos from the south side of the lake of the bird skulking low in the reeds near where it previously had been vocalizing."

First seen in the northern pond, but then flew over the fence to the southern pond where they were often hidden from sight by the slight rise to the left. Dark reddish birds with green iridescence on the upperparts and a long curved bill. Similar in size to the nearby Snowy Egret."

Struck by how much the abundant hanging lichens here look like the Spanish moss that these use to nest back home in Texas."

- Comments: "with Cher Hollingworth we located the Parula in the two sycamores, A small warbler dark blue gray upper and white under with yellow throat and breast, and a dark breast band. Sported a pair of white wing bars. Actually seemed to be two birds, but we had good views of only one."

At one point while watching the male singing I thought I may have heard another bird singing farther off. But I could never confirm seeing two at a time. Favored the tall sycamores, often coming close to the road allowing great views."
