Goleta birds over the GBBC weekend

Libby Patten

Had some nice outings this weekend inspired in part by the global Great Backyard Bird Count. Ending up going to NCOS twice. The water level has dropped enough so that’s a much greater diversity of species that just two weeks ago. Was nice to see Northern Pintail, LBDO, loads of CITE, and a flyover of three white geese (with a bunch of Canada) that were probably the two juv Snow and one Ross’s that Dave Compton saw yesterday at Sandpiper. Today at Stow Grove Park, saw a White-throated Sparrow in a small mixed sparrow flock. Also heard and saw a male Phainopepla.
