It had been a while since I spent time at the slough. An afternoon visit May 7 across from the restaurant where it was a treat to see the LITTLE BLUE HERON in transition plumage and its feather rustle at the approach of a BLACK-NECKED STILT. A hunting OSPREY added interest with 4 WESTERN GREBES and GBH nest activity. Once the sun came out a few common species flew in.
